Deshar Primary School is a rural school situated close to the junction of the Aviemore/Grantown road and approximately one mile from the village of Boat of Garten.
The school was built in 1877 and consists of two classrooms, a nursery, a library, staff room, resource room, offices and school canteen.
Two full-time teachers currently staff the school. The school has a roll of 28 primary pupils and 10 nursery pupils. Specialists in Physical Education, Music and Support for Learning visit the school. The Nursery class is staffed by two Early Years Practitioners with support from a Principal Teacher.
